The two teenagers rescued from a fiery pick-up truck crash in Milan on Friday night are recovering in the burn unit at Westchester Medical Center as of this afternoon.
Dillon Van Wagner, 17, of Milan, and Caitlyn Kelly, 16, of Kingston were helped by Jerry Piacente, 60, and his son Joseph, 20, also of Milan, who pulled the pair from the flaming vehicle shortly before its gas tank exploded.
Van Wagner lost control of the truck around 5:45 p.m. Friday on Shookville Road. The truck spun around, careened into a ditch and hit a tree. It landed on its side and caught fire, State Trooper Mark Delpozzo of the Pine Plains substation told the Journal on Saturday.
Van Wagner and Kelly were airlifted to Westchester Medical Center for treatment. |
